HRH Crown Princess Mary of Denmark Visit Indonesian Midwives Association
[Tuesday, December 3, 2019]
Today the Central Board of Indonesian Midwives Association received a visit from HRH The Crown Princess Mary of Denmark, Minister of Development Cooperation of Denmark, Dr. Natalia Kanem as Executive Director of UNFPA, Ambassador of Denmark to Indonesia, Timor Leste, Papua New Guinea and ASEAN, Ambassador of Indonesia to Denmark, Dr. Bjorn Andersson as UNFPA Regional Director, Ms. Anjali Sen as UNFPA Representative of Indonesia and all delegates for her visit to the IBI Office and clinic.
Indonesia is the 4th most populous country in the world, which also has the largest number of midwives in the world. The visit will focus on sexual and reproductive health rights and in the context of celebrating 70 years of diplomatic relations between Denmark and Indonesia. In addition, there is an agenda for exposure to the role of midwives in Indonesia and the challenges posed by the Chairperson of IBI, Dr. Emi Nurjasmi, M. Kes, after that continued with a sharing session from the Holy Midwife who practices in the field in her efforts to # EndndGM.
We are proud to be one of the institutions chosen to be visited by HRH The Crown Princess Mary of Denmark and all delegates. We learned a lot in the dialogue about how the princess has a concern for women's reproductive health and human rights.
Thank you to UNFPA for their trust, support and cooperation with IBI.
